Repair or Replace?

Many users of composite structures are under the impression that damage automatically results in the part becoming obsolete. This does not have to be the case. To repair a damaged structure is often the most economically sensible solution.

When properly carried out, a professional composite repair to a damaged high performance structure will not compromise the structural integrity of the component in any way. The profile and aerodynamic qualities will be preserved.  At EES we pride ourselves on ensuring that the weight will remain as before the damage occurred.

A successful repair will reduce stress on the component, preventing cracks from opening and growing in the previously damaged area and beyond. Equally, unique structural components that have been damaged beyond repair can sometimes result in the entire item (vehicle, aircraft or other) being written off. We can manufacture one-off or unique composite items by creating a bespoke mould specific to the client’s requirement.
